Pica’s Mexican Taqueria: Authentic Mexican Flavors in Louisville

I was in Broomfield for work & wanted some tacos but when I got here & saw that everyone was eating a wet burrito, I changed my mind. I am not sorry I did either as the chicken burrito, fajita style, is smothered in sauce which makes it awesome. Plenty of sauce for both my burrito & to dip my chips in. Speaking of chips, the pico was legit & fresh. The vibe is casual but nice & accommodated both families and couples hanging out for the night.

Sitting outside on a sunny day is perfection. We got the chopped salad, nachos, and the Baja fish tacos. The kids were playing connect 4 while we waited.

Food was really good. High quality products and taste. The aesthetics and artwork were really cool. Eating in there was fun and interesting to look around. You do order at the counter, but I didn’t mind that. Only complaint is that it is definitely pricy, 11 dollars for a bean and cheese burrito. But, the burrito was delicious and big, so hey, you pay for the whole experience if you’re going here.

Fresh and bright food with a colorful interior. It is counter-service & quick all-around. Check out the specials board! I tried the wet rajas burrito and added steak. Phenomenal. Great duck taco as well. Margs are a little sour, and it’s not cheap, but I would take Pica’s over other trendy Mexican places.

So so good! We went on a Saturday around noon, it wasn’t too busy and was a great spot to go after visiting the farmers market! We got the veggie tacos and shrimp tacos. Both were super fresh and tasted really good! Shrimp says it’s spicy, but the spice isn’t too strong. Beans aren’t super flavorful, but still goes well with the tacos. Really fresh food, I will be back again!

Absolutely amazing nachos! Huge scoops of guacamole, fresh pico and sour cream, on top of amazing homemade tortilla chips, beans and cheese. The chips are too salty (on multiple visits), which is the only thing I would change. Great house margaritas, and I love that they support our local library summer reading program!

Pica’s is great but holy moly your prices have gotten outrageous! I’ve been a fan since going to the Wilson, WY location 20 years ago and went to the Louisville location weekly for years, but can now only stop in for a happy hour drink once in a while. The house margs don’t use 100% agave but are still as expensive as comparable establishments that use better tequila. Hibiscus marg is the way to go! Thank you for keeping the kids meals reasonable, as that will keep us coming but for now I’ve scaled back considerably. Staff is always kind and we love you but just can’t hang with those prices anymore. I can only imagine how hard it is to run a restaurant through covid and the current economic environment, and I will always be a loyal fan but more so from the sidelines these days.

Was recommended by a friend. The food was good, but, not the best Mexican I have had. The shrimp taco was good, the fish taco was very fishy. The black beans were unseasoned. I will say the guac was very good. The chips are very thick and crunchy. Was it good, yes. Would I go back, no.
